Welcome to the Outdoors LLC ("WTTO," "we," "us," or "our") operates welcometotheoutdoors.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding your data.
What we collect
We collect personal information when you provide it through our forms and store features:
Through our build request form: your name, email address, phone number, vehicle information, preferred contact method, optional decision-context note, configured build sheet, selected options, estimated pricing and weight, and whether you already contacted the manufacturer, received a written quote, paid a deposit, or placed an order.
Through our saved builds feature: your email address, if you choose to save your builds for later access.
Through privacy requests, contact forms, report forms, support messages, or feedback forms: your email address, request type, message content, and any other information you choose to include.
Through our accessories store: name, email address, shipping address, billing address, order details, cart information, store-credit or buyer-bonus redemption, fulfillment information, and related customer support messages. Payment information is processed by Shopify and/or its payment processors; WTTO does not store full payment card numbers.
Through owner reviews, videos, photos, testimonials, or similar submissions: your contact information, camper or vehicle information, submitted media, statements, and related metadata.
We also automatically process limited technical information needed to operate and protect the site, such as IP address, browser type, device/browser information, referring URL, and security logs. WTTO stores IP address in hashed form for consent verification where applicable.
We also use local browser storage for saved builds, compare state, cart continuity, truck selections, and UI preferences when you use those features.
We also collect product analytics about how visitors use the site, such as page views, camper views, compare actions, configuration changes, lead submissions, accessory product views, and saved-build actions. Analytics may use pseudonymous identifiers, event timestamps, page URLs, and device/browser information to understand site usage and troubleshoot issues.
How we use your information
Build Requests: When you submit a Build Request, you direct WTTO to send your name, email address, phone number, vehicle information, prior-contact answers, optional decision-context note, and configured build sheet to the camper manufacturer you selected. The manufacturer may contact you directly about your build. WTTO may receive compensation, including a success fee, if your Build Request later results in a completed sale under WTTO's partner program with that manufacturer.
Partner attribution: We use Build Request records, consent records, source/referral information, prior-contact answers, buyer bonus records, deposit/order status, completed-sale status, cancellation/refund status, and similar information to administer partner relationships, prevent duplicate or disputed requests, verify bonuses, reconcile completed sales, issue invoices, and maintain business records.
Saved build emails: We use your email to send you a link to your saved builds and occasional camper buying tips where permitted. Marketing emails will include an unsubscribe link or other opt-out method. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. Marketing email opt-outs will be honored within 10 business days. Transactional emails related to Build Requests, saved builds, orders, privacy requests, or account/service updates may still be sent as needed.
Accessories store: We use order, shipping, payment-status, and store-credit information to process accessory purchases, fulfill orders, provide support, prevent fraud, and maintain tax/accounting records.
Buyer bonuses and incentives: WTTO may offer small buyer bonuses, store credits, digital benefits, badges, app trials, or similar perks when you submit a qualifying Build Request, owner review, or complete another eligible action. Participation is optional, and we use submitted information to determine eligibility, deliver the benefit, prevent duplicate claims, and administer partner attribution.
Owner content: If you submit an owner review, video, photo, testimonial, or other content, we may use it for WTTO editorial, research, marketing, and platform purposes according to the submission terms shown at the time of upload. If a review is incentivized, we may disclose that fact when publishing or using the review. Review incentives are not conditioned on the review being positive, negative, or favorable to WTTO or any manufacturer.
Site operations and analytics: We use technical, local-storage, and analytics information to operate the site, remember your selections, measure product usage, improve comparison tools, debug errors, prevent fraud or abuse, and protect the site.
Notice of financial incentive
WTTO may offer optional buyer bonuses, store credits, digital perks, badges, app trials, or similar incentives. Specific incentive terms, such as eligibility rules, expiration dates, purchase minimums, one-time-use limits, review or submission requirements, and redemption instructions, will be shown with the offer.
These incentives may require you to submit personal information, such as contact information, Build Request details, purchase or deposit status, owner-review content, order information, or information needed to verify eligibility.
You opt in by submitting the applicable Build Request, owner review, order, or incentive form. You may withdraw from an incentive by contacting us at [email protected], but withdrawal, deletion, or failure to provide required information may affect our ability to verify eligibility or provide the benefit.
The value of each incentive will be the value stated with the offer, such as the amount of a store credit or buyer bonus. WTTO estimates that the value of the personal information involved is reasonably related to the value of the incentive based on factors such as expected partner-attribution value, content/review value, ecommerce activity, fraud-prevention needs, administrative costs, and the cost of providing the incentive.
Who we share your information with
We share your personal information with the following parties:
Camper manufacturers you select: When you submit a Build Request, we disclose your Build Request information to the manufacturer or manufacturers you selected. This may include your contact information, truck information, configured camper build, selected options, prior-contact answers, optional decision-context note, and related request details.
Camper manufacturers are independent businesses. Once we send a Build Request to the manufacturer you selected, that manufacturer may process your information under its own privacy policy. Our partner terms are intended to limit participating manufacturers' use of Build Request information to responding to your request and related sales activity, but we do not control all manufacturer systems or follow-up communications.
Service providers: We use the following services to operate our platform:
- Resend (resend.com) — email delivery for confirmations and notifications
- Airtable (airtable.com) — secure data storage for lead records
- Cloudflare (cloudflare.com) — website hosting, security, and content delivery
- Shopify (shopify.com) — e-commerce for accessories and buyer benefits
- PostHog (posthog.com) — product analytics and pageview measurement
Legal, safety, and business purposes: We may disclose information when necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, enforce our terms, protect WTTO or others, prevent fraud or abuse, maintain security, or complete a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.
We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party ad pixels on the website. If we add advertising cookies, third-party ad pixels, cross-context behavioral advertising, or other non-essential third-party tracking in the future, we will update this policy and provide any required consent controls before activating it.
We do not sell your personal information to unrelated data brokers. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Your rights
Depending on where you live and applicable law, and in some cases voluntarily, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal information — request a copy of the data we have about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete your personal information from our systems
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected] or submit a request through the form below.
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling access, deletion, or correction requests. You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights, but some requests may limit our ability to complete a transaction or provide a service you requested.
We will respond to access, deletion, and correction requests within 45 calendar days unless we need additional time permitted by law, in which case we will notify you. Where required, we will comply with opt-out requests as soon as feasibly possible and no later than 15 business days.
Do not sell or share my personal information
Depending on applicable law, WTTO's disclosure of Build Request information to participating camper manufacturers may be considered a "sale" of personal information because WTTO may receive compensation if a Build Request later results in a completed sale. Build Requests are submitted only when you intentionally direct WTTO to send your information and configured build to the manufacturer you selected.
To opt out:
- Email [email protected] with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share"
- Or submit a request through the form below
An opt-out does not prevent WTTO from completing a Build Request that you intentionally submit and ask us to send to a selected manufacturer. If your information has already been sent to a manufacturer, we will delete or suppress the information we control and, where applicable, forward your request to that manufacturer. The manufacturer may process your information independently under its own privacy policy.
We detect Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals in the Build Request flow and will honor opt-out preference signals where required by applicable law. If a GPC signal conflicts with a Build Request you choose to submit, the form will ask you to confirm that you are intentionally directing WTTO to send that specific request.
Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide services, administer Build Requests, reconcile partner attribution, verify buyer bonuses, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and keep accounting records.
- Build Request and lead records: up to 24 months from last interaction unless a longer period is needed
- Converted customer, invoice, sale-status, and accounting records: up to 7 years or longer if required by law
- Privacy request and preference records: as needed to document compliance
- Local browser storage: on your device until you clear it or your browser removes it
You can request deletion at any time by contacting us, subject to legal, security, transactional, tax/accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, and other permitted exceptions.
Cookies and tracking
We use local browser storage for site functionality such as saved builds, compare state, truck selections, cart continuity, and UI preferences.
We also use PostHog to measure page views and explicit product interactions. At launch, PostHog is configured for manual event tracking only. We have session replay, heatmaps, and broad autocapture turned off.
We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party ad pixels on the website. If we add advertising cookies, third-party ad pixels, cross-context behavioral advertising, or other non-essential third-party tracking in the future, we will update this policy and add any required consent or opt-out controls before activating them.
Children's privacy
Our website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16.
Changes to this policy
We will notify you of material changes to this policy by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If we make changes that expand how we share your personal information, we will obtain your consent before applying the new practices to previously collected data.
